Magnolia Springs, Ala. – (OBA) – Last night, Monday, May 27, at about 8:00pm, Magnolia Springs Fire Rescue and Bon Secour Fire/Rescue responded to a boater in distress call. A 22-foot boat began taking on water in Bon Secour Bay and sank. It is unclear what caused the boat to sink.
Bon Secour Volunteer Fire Department were the first to arrive and found five people in the water when they arrived. The rescuers were able to retrieve all the individuals from the bay without any injuries.
All 5 subjects were taken to the Pelican Point Boat Launch at the end of County Road 1 and were safely transported home just before last night’s thunderstorms blew in. The 5 subjects were from the Barnwell Community.
