Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Island Spirit Award from the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is one of the longest lasting traditions on the island. It is the highest honor from the Chamber because it's not the businesses that make visitors feel welcome, it is the staff at each location who make the difference.

The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber recently got to surprise Allison 'Socks' Pryor with the June 2024 Island Spirit Award!

Allison is involved with many companies and organizations in the area including, but not limited to: Design Print Promote, the Alabama Coastal Foundation, Tacky Jack's, the Annual National Shrimp Festival, and the South Baldwin Community Theatre.

The nomination letter sent to the Chamber about Allison:

"Allison shows up everywhere with a smile, energy, and the most vibrant costume on. She is extremely involved in many community organizations and every time we see her, she brings us joy and extra excitement to whatever event she’s supporting - everything from golf tournaments to local community theater shows. Allison is the absolute epitome of spirit."

The Chamber's Spirit Committee was able to pop-in to a recent Annual National Shrimp Festival committee meeting to surprise Allison with flowers, a cash prize, the traveling Island Spirit plaque, a plaque to keep, and a copy of the nomination letter.
